Forecast engine

Transparent assumptions. Auditable output.

The Collection Forecast is driven by two inputs: your AR aging balances and the collection assumptions on the Setup tab. For each aging bucket, you define an expected collection percentage and expected days to collect. The model applies those assumptions and projects when cash will arrive.

The Payment History tab tracks actual customer payment behavior — but it does NOT automatically feed the forecast. This is intentional. Your assumptions are always visible on one tab, making the model easy to explain to boards, lenders, and auditors. You stay in control.

Questions

Frequently asked

The forecast is driven by your AR aging balances and the collection assumptions on the Setup tab. For each aging bucket (Current, 31-60, 61-90, 91-120, Over 120), you set an expected collection % and expected days to collect. The model applies those assumptions to your outstanding balances and projects weekly collections for 13 weeks.
No — and that's by design. The Payment History tab tracks actual customer payment behavior so you can make informed adjustments to your Setup assumptions. But it never overrides them automatically. This keeps the model transparent and auditable.
Yes. Unprotect the sheet using the password in the Instructions tab, insert rows above the Totals row, and copy the formulas down from the row above. Update the Totals SUM range to include your new rows.
The AR Collection Forecaster projects when your receivables will convert to cash. You can use that output to populate the Cash Receipts section of the 13-Week Cash Flow Forecast — giving you a complete, data-driven cash management solution. Both products are available as a bundle for $249.
Yes. The workbook is a standard .xlsx file with no macros or VBA. It opens and functions in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and Excel Online. All formulas and functionality work across platforms.
